A long time ago,we used to have only one type or genre of music in Zambia but at the moment we have several and this can be attributed either to innovation or lack of innovation amongst the current crop of artists. Some of the stuff is purely traditonal whlst some of the flavas have some western spices,it's all good.

Let's start with Angela Nyirenda who i think has stuck to her roots. She hails from the eastern part of Zambia and this is what she is doing, pure traditonal music.

This song is by Jonto who collaborated with a nice young lady by the name of Monique. The gentleman is my former classmate and neighbour who is a true music enthusiast. He was a DJ at a tender age and i was really shocked to discover he was now a performing artist bearing in mind i last saw him years back after finishing high school. The music really touched me and by the time i realised who was singing,i was so speechless. In this song they talk about a couple who fall in love and plan to marry. They later come to realise through relatives that they are brother and sister but they both don't wanna accept the truth and want to go ahead with their plans to marry as the damage has been done already!
