Waka music is a style of Nigerian popular music. It is a mixture of juju, fuji and Yoruba traditional music. The most famous singer was Salawa Abeni, who was very popular in the 1980s and was crowned "Queen of Waka" in 1992 by the Alaaffn of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
