“Normal life is...

leaving the house in the morning, dressed in clothes that you bought on credit for work, driving through the traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get to the job that you hate but need so badly so that you can pay for the clothes, car and the house that you leave empty the whole day in order to live in it”    Grin

Grin Grin Grin Kie kie kie I have come to know of this life here in Europe,in africa most people don't get credit to buy a car or house,it's either they save for them or get the money to get them through dubious means.

As for myself,i have never bought on credit or worn clothes bought on credit, infact,i don't have a credit card coz it gets you into total mess!!!!!!

In most african countries, life is generally lived on a cach basis!!! Buying things on credits is unheard of to a common man.

But in developed countries such as SA, its credit all the way. This Live-on-Credit life style has gotten so bad, that the government recently had to intro new strictier measures that should be taken before one can be granted credits. Its reported that an average SAn, lives very expensive life style that they cant afford, big cars, houses, designer clothes etc all on credit, that is more that they can afford, (based on their salary-wise)!!!

The government introduces strict measures quiet alright but the finance companies don't follow them, they keep on advertising aggressively, here in the UK we see Finance companies advertising their loan offers, car credit etc on Baby Channels,it really pisses me off coz my child is used to the adverts much that when they come on he starts giggling, there is one advert he likes so much,it's a car insurance advert featuring an animated former British Pime Minister,Churchill as a bulldog with some guy asking the bulldog''can you save me money on insurance for my VW golf''the dog keeps answering ''oh yes'',most kids love this advert and they repeat after that bulldog saying oh yesh!!! Hey. I stumbled across this thread and thought it was bloody hilarious. Ha ha.

The normal life is what gets into my underwear. Uh no, wait. That came out so wrong. And I have no idea why I didn't delete that comment right now, but anyway. It's the normal life's fault. Blame it on the normal life.

Okay, after that little giggle session may I just say that I want to rephrase myself. I live the normal life. And it irritates the HELL out of me. And trust me, having British and German ancestory, there's alot of HELL in me. But it's going away and fast too.

I used to live in London. Then I moved here, and I suddenly adopted the normal life. It is now getting increasingly irritating and boring, and sometimes I feel like gnawing my big toe off, in hopes for some entertainment, or just ripping out my own appendix. So yeah.

South Africa has done alot for me. It's made me become an athiest, and made me realise that the thing I came here for is actually not the thing I want and that the thing I had but didn't want is actually the thing I want now, and then in a way, so now I want something else, til I have that, then I will realise that the thing I will have then is actually not the thing I want either and come back to the thing I thought I wanted but didn't really want and left for the thing that I also thought that I wanted and didn't really want, but return to the thing that I didn't really want anyway. *Takes very deep breath*

London was not the normal life. Pretoria is. But I like the weather here. And London reminds me of piss.

Normal life is... Waking up well in the morning and going to work. It does not get normal than that, i think. If you have work to go to then everything will be normal

Still on the credit side...I think the government has done a good thing by introducing the credict act thing. You know some ppl just cannot live without credits. Some are even buying groceries by credit (how crazy??).

You know these credit giving ppl (whatever they call themselves) are so selfish. One day they called me offering me a credit card, I refused they called they called and they called untill I accepted. I told myself that i'm just going to take it but not going to use it. I took it, didn't sign it....guess what? Month end they sent me a statement telling I have to go pay R300.

I don't know where you guys are but in UK there is what they call Telephone Preferrence Service, you can request them to add your number to register of numbers that should not be called by anyone that is selling something ie ''cold calling''.If someone calls you when you're on the register, they face penalties.

Hey... you live in the UK? I'm from there. If you do live there, or lived there, or have been there, where, exactly?

Wanna see some crazy stuff? Go to Shitterton. Yes that's like feaces and then terton. The name is bad enough. But the place. Wow. Scary.

it's a small place just outside Cambridge. I come from Cambridge. I also lived in Teigenmouth for a while. That's where I heard of Muse for the first time. The frontman comes from Cambridge too, and the band was based in Teigenmouth.

Puke. I hate the normal life. It's so... normal. I went through another day in the normal and it sickened me. I want a COMPLETE change of scenery. Luckily I'm not as tied up in my everyday life as the rest of you. Ha ha ha! I should really consider buggering off somewhere interesting.

No man, silly Ass. I am not saying you're boring, I'm just saying I don't have a very bound life. Ha ha! But I'll think about the offer. I am leaving very very soon, though.
