Yeah... New York is an amazing place. It scares a lot of people, but not me. I mean, a lot of people are intimidated by the loud buzz and all the lights, etc, and prefer a quieter place such as Pretoria or something African. But, places like Pretoria scare me. It's too quiet. I need the loud buzz in my head all the time.

But it still has nothing on London.

Uhm... London is my home. There's no place like home. And in a lot of respects, London is the most spectacular city. And yes, they did ban Snoop from London. Which I am very grateful for. He just contaminates places with his music that is seriously lacking in the talent department. But he is funny. I'll give him that.

I guess. But think about it, how much talent is needed to rap? Really? Other people who will never become famous write all your songs, you just talk very fast, and you don't even need to play an instrument. Plus, you can just invent words to make em rhyme. Not much talent needed.

Yeah, but that's the producer's job. And by the looks of things, Timbaland is the only producer in the industry at the moment.  Roll Eyes

But he's really really really good.

Yeah. One can't put the entire industry down. I think there is a lot of Hip Hop, Rap and RnB that is worth listening to, because there is an actual story there. But most of the stuff these days is written by ghost writers, done purely for money and is bad in the way that it objectifies women, is always about something sexual, is always repetitive, and is always unintelligent rubbish. But not all of it. But mostly, the older Hip Hop, Rap and RnB from underground groups and groups considered as 'cults' back in the 90's is actually the good stuff. But this mainstream stuff is just rubbish.

...underground is/was just a way to segregate truth sayers...the mainstream that is now running and capitalizing on rap don't wanna hear the "real" stuff...but like every other industry rap is/will go through phases. Proof can be seen in Kanye vs loose change...also with Jay-Z producing crap...no more off the head ish its time for story tellers.
