Well, I don't know, really. It's just survived longer than any music geek would've thought. There's only 1 thing I really don't like about Hip Hop. I love the messages that it gets across, but what I really don't like is that the 'artists', if you can call them that, don't even need to have talent these days. I'm serious. What does it take to be a good Hip Hop artist? Just a good producer, and someone who can market you. That's all. You don't need to be able to play anything, you don't need to be able to sing, (even if you do sing, it's probably fake (computer generated)), you don't even have to be the best lyricist. So what is there to like? (Besides some of the more up-beat messages?)

But it's the truth. Okay, straying a bit from Hip Hop here, I'm gonna take Gwen Stefani as an example: The lady sounds pretty good (dumb, but good) on her new album, The Sweet Escape, but have you heard her live? Eeuw.
The measure of how good an artist is in in their live perfomance.

Usually I prefer the raw live sound of a good live performance. But more and more increasingly, all the popular mainstream artists are seriously sucking live, it hurts my brain! Noooooooo! Well, that's mostly with, and I'm gonna be really nasty now, but it's true, with American peformers. All the Alternative Rock, NewProg, BritPop, Ska, Pop, etc artists that are out there these days that come from Britain rock live. I mean, did any of you see Live Earth London? I was there, it was amazing! Did you see the footage from Live Earth New York? Eeuw. And the best live band in the world has to be Muse.
