Hi Everybody,

I signed up to this Forum because I´m looking for African music and don´t know any artists or songs.
The music is needed to be sampled and rearranged.
We have already done that with another song from an Artist named "Nontwintwi".

Can you point me in the right direction with some artist names and shops that offer their songs? Please help me out.

I really like the sound and rhythm patterns and think they are perfect for creating new songs since it is all unheard for western listeners.

If you know modern/traditional African musicians then please direct me to their website etc.

I know there are thousands of artists and bands and singers so maybe good samplers would be something to start off with. Maybe the big name artists are good for the start as well.

Thanks for your help it is much appreciated!

Cheers!

Nobody?

In an other forum I have been pointed to Hugh Masekela and Reggie Rockstone and also this thread has been recommended to me http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182130&highlight=african.

It is a good start but don´t you guys got some more recommendations?

I know my request is really superficial but I just don´t know where to start. So maybe the usual suspects would be a cool hint!

Thanks in advance!

African music is vast!

I love Congolese Music. There are lots of Music videos here:

Listen to the Videos and Google the artists -- there are 'loads' of African stars.
