Welcome Molakasi,i think you and me have something in common, talk about Papa Lutumba and one of his former students Le Grand Guitarist Olivier Tshimanga!!
I cannot wait to hear Ferre singing in Lutumba's next album,i think it will be the bomb!
I think Luambo was a great composer in his own right but like you,i have a feeling that Lutumba had a slight edge coz he used different vocalists fo his many songs but Luambo mostly used Josky,Madilu and sometimes Youlou.
The songs you have above are also on my list and i will also add
1.Eau Benite
2.Ebale Ya Zaire later remixed as Ebale ya Congo on his later album Procés
3.Tala Merci bapesaka na Mbua (with my fav singer on lead vocals-Jean Bialu Madilu tres fort-MHSRIP)
4.Aminata na zangi na visa,(back in the days in Zambia it used to play on ZNBC airwaves all the time
here is Aminata

Welcome Molakisi!! Good to see you here. Although we have some masters of archives on TPOK Class of music, yours will surely suppliment greatly. I have heard you on radio 105 Fm and you are the bomb when it comes to this kind of muzikee. And pliz dont play too much TPOK on radio, pliz play rhumbas from wenge and the likes
You are right on Lutumba,, he was the master poet and I have always said, the guitarists are not that acknowledged like the singers just like Alain Makaba and Massela of the wenge clan.

EMO
hey man thanks alot for inviting me over to this forum
man am having a hell of a time
i play to much TP OK JAZZ on my radio shows.
well i play songs that talk about some thing
but music done these days is all the same insults / counter insults
how i dd well at olympia bercy or london
old rhumba well it always has some thing to teach
but mpiana's song education beats them all
its so informative that we need to share the message
EDUCATION BY JB MPIANA
A child never applied to be born
mom and dad got married and had this child
several forms of education exists:-for school and from home
educate a child in the way you want it grow and that is what you achieve.
parents you can be role models for your children
but i know fathers that are far from that
your son finds you hand in hand with another woman
you tell your son "dont tell this to your mother for she would be cross with me here is money for you to buy yourself some sweets and biscuits"
from that time that father loses the respect and how would he discipline that child when the child errors
show me some woman who also keep relatives like domestics or as SERVANTS
all the chores at home sending the relatives and sparing her child form the
domestic chores
she forgets that she is educating the other child and giving life skills to the other child at the expense of her own child she is protecting child.
some of these ladies if you beat up her child she would be so upset and say
BOTIKELA NGAI LISO NANGAI- PLEASE SPARE AND LEAVE MY EYE ALONE
now that is what i call music no insult no reference to werrason or koffi
but just an educative song
how i wish they all kept it that way

he he he he,i don't know if you understand Congolese satire but if you can, kindly translate what Mpiana was saying in the Generique of the same album TH especially right at the end of the song,a Congolese friend in Zambia used to laugh a lot when the song was playing,he said JB was saying something about Monkeys or bonobos in reference to Werra who was playing with them in the video of Solola Bien(Werra runs a foundation to save bonobos),am told JB also mentioned something about skin bleaching again in reference to Werra, please help with translation if you can!!!

ya man
the is a part were he says
Bakin be careful if one day you teach a a parrot how to speak one day the parrot will insult you.
in solola bein
werrason says ata oko ndenda lokola ndembo, ata okoloba lokola chaku.......
whether you bounce like a ball or speak like a parrot
in reference to JB who appeared in a video in high heeled shoes with abounce in his step like a bouncing ball
i think JB and Werrason are good friends the rivalry is just for business and selling CDz

Ya,am told JB said many things including tribal stuff.Werrason answered much in Kibuisa Mpimpa but not insults! The boys were bitter enemies, they have just reconciled recently according to Alba Accompa a former rhythm guitarist,i think it's coz they are now in the same neighbourhood of Mont Fleury, that's where Koffi also stays,if you remember very well, one of Koffi's men went and rammed into JB's fence, probably just to take a look at JB's mansion as he had built a fence before building the actual house so they couldn't see what he was doing!!

I still think the rivalry is still there but since they have matured its not that serious anymore. I have a feeling it might start again looking at the fact that JB has hit Werra hard this year - Kipe Yayo and Bokeseni and the fact that Fans are naming him Mokonzi Ya Ba Wenge.

JB still calls them names(Werra et Koffi) watch him when he makes he arrives on stage and shows of his clothes and says he ''Bilele, hie hie hie Ba Mvuati teh'' meaning they are naked(wear cheap stuff!!)
He says so many other things but indirectly,he loves satire too!

well from what i know JB was not even a founder member of wenge music
masela and the wenge al paris man is that mary djo a supposed to be?
If werrason was a senior wengewise then he can't watch JB being crowned the mokonzi of wenge
but during the wege BCBG days what made JB more popular were his looks and his voice which nzambe never werrason compared to his friend JB
i hate it when werrason passes running commentries during songs
but his composition "KASKIN" was better than JB's "KINE EBOUGE"
but when all is said and done the original BCBG was a band and a half

Molakisi I think JB suits to be called Chief waba Wenge looking at the fact that most of his compositions/BCBG compared to any wenge guy/Band excluding Makaba up to today, are all in line with routes wenge music. Can u compare any song of werrason of late that can match Le Baron???

The idea to create a band came from Didier Masela,he sold the idea to Aimé Buanga and Werrason and together they started doing jam sessions,JB Mpiana,Marie Paul and others joined shortly afterwards and it became an Orchestra and named Wenge Musica, the name Wenge was suggested by an old man who was their fan. What i understand is that they first released an unedited version of the song Kin E Bouge which did not go far then released the album Bouger Bouger with the song Mulolo penned by JB Mpiana, infact he penned 3 of the 6 songs on the album and the song Mulolo was song of the year.
At this point, they were recognised as an Orchestra and they decided to take things seriously and all of them nominated JB as Band President with Werrason as Director of Finance.Alain Makaba and JB Mpiana were the two seniormost members, they signed all contracts. They started giving Zaiko a run for their money. They made a follow up album and now clean cut Kin E Bouger again the title track of the album Kin E Bouger was a mega hit and saw them crowned best band 1990-1991 i think.JB Mpiana was President of Wenge Musica BCBG right up to it's dissolution that's why he is called Mokonzi of Wenge, even though he takes long to release albums,he still manages to beat them all when he does and he pulls massive crowds just like Werrason, infact JB and Werrason are the top crowd pullers in Congo followed by Koffi.

Forgot one point,Molakisi, however you look at it,when you listen to three quarters of Wenge Musica's albums,it was JB's songs which ruled,he was lead singer in almost all songs followed by Blaise including songs authored by Werrason.
It's hard to tell which song is the best on Kin E Bouge so i have settled for one that doesn't have a sebene,it is the bomb and again it's JB on lead vocals but the song is authored by Makaba i think here it is Princess Pathy

Molakisi, have u heard the wrangles the old man Lutumba and Bozi Boziana have entered into?? Lutumba is annoyed that Bozi has been stealing some artists from Bana OK when in fact they just defect voluntarily::
As we know, the violins can agree among more Lutumba Simaro, patron of the orchestra Bana Ok, and Bozi Boziana of proof.
The president of Bana Ok Bozi Boziana accuses him delighted his musicians, including singer Niclette Kombozi, bassist Serge Kabangu and singer Blaisesse evolving currently alongside the Grand Father in the Anti.
Worse still, according to the old Lutumba Simaro, the singer Blaisesse was allowed to resume the lyrics of a song by the President of Bana ok to incorporate a work contained clans clans next album of the Anti.
Partisan of nonviolence, Grand Father Bozi we invited to the exhibition of honor at the Ngobila Beach, before his trip to Brazzaville, to respond to this problem. Hand on heart, Grand Father said that: "With great respect for my old Lutumba Simaro and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I stated that I did no harm to the President of Bana OK I think we have already met twice, the Ministry of Culture and Arts and the studio Ica. Together, he and I, we had tried to talk about this problem of the singer Blaisesse. I thought I understood the old. However, it still retained a tooth against me. "
"Look, the singer Niclette Kombozi and her husband, singer Bovic, I had recruited in Kisangani. It is because of me that this couple had come to Kinshasa to join the Anti. Niclette had left my group for Bana OK I did not make a noise.
When she left Bana Ok, she implored me she returned to the fold. I could not refuse because it is thanks to me as it is to Kinshasa. "
"About bassist Serge Kabangu, he had already left Bana OK When it came to apply in the Anti-shock, I had hired as a musician belonging to any group. "
"In connection with the singer Blaisesse, she had also left the group Bana Ok before its integration into the Anti.
With regard to the words of the old Simaro that Blaisesse incorporated in the songs of my group permettrez-moi to explain that it is difficult to control the origin or source of words that we are introducing musicians in the directory. In addition, the singer Blaisesse had introduced these words in the song "Chayi Bwakis" from the album "Epanza Makita released in 2005."
"I invite my old for a proper understanding so that we can keep our good relations. Musicians can lamais us parer.Vieux Lutumba is a "poet" of the song Congolese. These words may not disturb his career. The singer Blaisesse is solely responsible who knows his inspiration. I am truly innocent of this matter. Thank you and good understanding. "
