I was also shocked to hear the news today at our local zambian radio. Sad indeed Africa/SA has been robbed once again of a true african musician. He was only 43 when he was gunned down. Hopefully the investigations already commissioned, will bring the suspects to book. More: http://www.zamnet.zm/newsys/news/viewnews.cgi?category=4&id=1192783941

What a waste! His music was all about Social Justice -- My favorite topic. The struggle against apartheid created a very intense culture of lawlessness. This is further aggravated by lack of Education and opportunity. What happened to this device?

I concur with you,he was also popular in Jamaica, the story has been quoted on Jamaican networks infact i bought my copies of Lucky Dube's music from Jamaican shops in a mostly Jamaican populated town of Harlesden in London. He was a true star who will be sadly missed,i wish more native South Africans could go to school instead of choosing violence and theft as a means of livelihood!

I cannot believe how can a black someone or even pink someone would kill the only reggae superstar in SA? I mean they should have just took the damn car and leave him alone. + he was with his two kids...shame! Anyhow, I hope the law will deal with them after they catch them coz they definately will be caught sooner than later. I wonder what are they thinking now that the news is all over the world? Maybe they are being proud of themselves that they've made history!

Death penalty is tha only solution in SA coupled with education. SA have seen too much blood since the fight for independence so its in them.

The injustice that has been caused here must be eradicated. Lucky Dube was an African Icon, and he deserved more than he got. I saw him live quite a few times when I was still in Africa, and I loved his work, what I heard of it, anyway. His live performances were forces to be reckoned with.
I'm sure all of Africa, especially South Africa will mourn this loss greatly.

He was such a man of honour,a man of good character,a true icon.he played a good role in his shortlived life.may his soul rest in peace......im saying/writing this with a lump in my throat as he was a strong, iron, true soldier in an army.
