I love the oldies especially.

I uploaded a few new videos too - http://www.africanmusicforum.com/main/Video-Index.shtml

David,

I heard you mention Martin Sinnock @ TotallyRadio.com in your broadcast -- Checked him out: He seems to have quite a nice setup too.

I have included him in our line-up: http://www.africanmusicforum.com/main/Internet-Radios-Index.shtml

I wonder whether his broadcasts can be downloaded like yours.

David, the first song you played 'Ebale Ya Zaire',is that the original version and is that Djo Mpoy or Sam Mangwana singing, the song hasn't changed much,i have the version Simaro did on his last album Procés i wonder who is singing in the newer version too?
Please play a few songs from Djo Mpoy in the next show.
Sometimes i ask myself who the best composer was in T.P.O.K between Simaro and Luambo,it's a tough one! Grin

I am pretty sure that is both Sam Mangwana and Djo Mpoyi on the original. On PROCES, the singers include Sam Mangwana, Josky Kimabukuta, Endo, Shakembo, Elba and a guy named Papy Balai. Simaro is listed as singing, but I am sure that has been proven incorrect.
I'd vote for Simaro, no disrespect to Le Grand Maitre.
I'll be happy to play a song by Djo Mpoyi for you.

You would have to ask him to be sure, but I believe his program is free & streaming for 7 days. After that, you have to pay a nominal fee to have unlimited access to archived programs.

Thanx David,i think Sam Mangwana is more prominent on both versions of 'Ebale Ya Zaire',i wonder Quartier Latin band member Shella Mputu also sang Ebale Ya Congo at GHK when he just joined Quartier Latin.I also agree with you that Papa Lutumba Simaro has a slight edge of his former master Grand Maitre Luambo infact their compositions were so different,Lumabo was much into the Jazz arrangement whilst Lutumba did smooth rhumbas.
