Hi

I'm a music teacher of 10 - 12 year olds and am trying to plan 12 weeks of work based around African music.

I am interested in songs that involve story-telling, reflect African culture, history, environment etc. and are singable by youngish children.

Our geography is based around the peoples that live in/by the Sahara and it would be nice if the music 'linked' but not essential.

Any ideas for songs/songbooks/recordings would be great...I just don't know where to start!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sprout.
