Not only will Qatar be the smallest nation to ever host the soccer championships, but it's also the first Arabic nation to do so. Though the choice certainly breaks fresh ground, not everyone is thrilled with FIFA's decision. In addition to environmental concerns about Qatar's soccer stadiums, many have drawn attention to the nation's strict drinking laws, conservative stance on women and soaringly hot summer climate. And let's not forget a less-than-stellar soccer pedigree.
